Decide to try out this place

Umai-Ya for my birthday dinner

LC decides to have Edi Tempura set.......the prawns are nice

I decided to try their Okonomi Yaki.

Surprisingly......Not Bad at All

Went to 1 Utama for dinner on the weekend.

and LC was craving for fresh Oyster..........

So we went to Shogun

Its a all you can eat place that charges RM 63++

The only thing that is propably nice are the fresh oysters.

other then that, yes there are a lot of variety,

including varieties in sushi.

including this hot pot that we did not order

and came by itself.

its a waste of food really........

cause we hardly touched it.

Me and LC decided to try out this place

call Bumbu Bali, in Puchong.

most of you might know this place.

its suppose to serve authentic Balinese food.

But it has a mix menu
including western food.

This is the nasi campur special.

not bad, has a good variety of BBQ/Grill stuff

I had this, the Kambing Bumbu.....

and this...... a must try.....the sup buntut.

or as we call it sup ekor.

wah...... nice , cause the meat is soooooo soft

and i think the soup has been boiled for quite some time,

as the soup is tasty and the meat so soft.

went to this place in puchong with LC for dinner.

from the look of the place, it should have been nice.

the deco is new and quite comfortable.

But when it come down to the food..........

this is what i had, a special "fried ho fun"
a bit too soggy, and was served on a flat plate which makes it hard

to scoop up the gravy and ho fun.

our verdict........ not again.

This is propably a common sight for most drivers.......

traffic is heavy, and yes there is a queue,

but yet most other drivers think that it is

their god given right to jump queue and risk having an accident.

but what about the normal law abiding drivers ?

do we not have any rights ?

and as can be seen, i guess that the people who drives merc are too

educated to see that they are breaking the law.

sigh

Lian Geak 莲玉 sells only hokkien mee

we ordered some roast pork, and lo bak......

nice, as the hokkien mee taste just nice.

not too strong taste, or spicy.

went to Bukit Tambun.

according to all, its the famous seafood place,

and yes........

there must be dozens of seafood restaurant to choose from.

and we were taken to 钓鱼台.

we had crab, fish,taufu and their mee.

all is nice except for the flies.....!

might have been the weather ? maybe ?

Was in Penang for a few days for Chinese New Year.....

as usual...... FOOD !

went to the food court opposite Northam Hotel......

named Northam as well.

discovered an interesting "mau chi"

They called it the First Penang Colourful Mau Chee !

not just one flavour.

taste is different, sweet and salty, but not too sweet and salty.

all in all was nice. we liked the place.
it had a live band playing, there was a good crowd as well.

but only one thing....... the mojito was potent !!

she had a mee soto i think or mee soup.

while i tried the soto ayam

and this is their sambal. taste different but nice cause it has tomato in it.

Been a while since the last update.

me and LC was in Bali recently.

so we can say.......We have been to BALI TOO ! :-)

we stayed at the all seasons, and did the tour of tanah lot....

it was nice, except for the driver/tour guide.

BAD BAD BAD experience............

he promised to pick us up on the last day and send us to the airport,

even collected a deposit of RP 50,000

but did not show up when he should.

called him, and the reply was on the way.

we waited for 30 minutes and ended up catching the taxi to the airport.

one good thing though.

i made a comment/complain on airasia's FB

and got a reply.

gave them the details of the operator.

and guess what........

the guy called me.

claim that he has lost his job, and he went to the hotel but we were not there.

ofcourse ! he was late !

anyhow, it was good of airasia to actually take notice. and act on it.

All of a sudden on the weekend, LC was craving for Laksa

and we end up in Citurs Park, next to Plaza OUG.

in there, theres a place called Ah Cheng's Laksa

LC ordered the Laksa with extra fish.

Looks nice, and according to LC, it was NICE>>>:-)

I ordered the Mee Kari (Curry)

with extra see hum (Kerang)

Did not like it very much

Not my kind of taste.

The set we ordered, came with "long gan"

that tasted ok.

If i go there again.......definately will not order the mee kari again.

stick with just the Laksa.

Tried out this place in puchong batu 14 with LC last night

its easy to find.

in Puchong Utama, near the famous dry bak kut teh.

Fish head cost Rm24, steamed with ginger and garlic,

not bad, and the tau fu pok wah stuffed with meat and vegie,

nice as well......

overall..... Good.

Heard sooo much about this place every time i go to bidor.....

friends keep on asking me, "you go to bidor and never had the famous

duck mee - 鸭腿麵 ?"

So........ this morning before coming back to KL,

I stop at a shop along the main (only) street.

"品珍 pun chin (i think)"

anyway, its just next to the people selling petai along the main street.

the duck drumstick is cooked with chinese herbal ingredients

a sort of "Dun tong 燉汤"

quite tasty.

and the mee, is the won ton mee.....

nice as well, not soggy.

Went to Port Dickson with Rob and Judy the day after the wedding dinner.

Booked a place called LE PARIS in portdickson

from the picture they have up in the website,

it looks decent.

But, once were are there,....... we found out otherwise.

its old, the pool looks dirty, sofa and floor does not seem to have been

look after for some time.

generally, only 20% of what they show in the website.

dissappointed.

on top of that........

this is what i saw in the carpark area.....

This is in the car park, and right above is the pool.

the leak looks dangerous, and seems like it did not just occur overnight and has been

like this for some time.

i was just praying that the place does not collapse while we are there.

but it does look like its going to happen anytime !

Mantis Prawn

on the second day, we went to pantai cenang, and by the time we got there,

it was lunch time.

so we spotted a place that looks ok.

its call "LUCKY RESTAURANT"

so, normally, a place like langkawi, seafood should be reasonably priced.

as usual, no need to ask for price, and we asked for mantis prawn.

the boss suggested 2, steamed.

guess how much we paid for that.......

RM 82 ! for 2 mantis prawn.

I think we were charged too much, but we quietly paid and left.

Honeymoon

Off we went to Langkawi...............

Well, LC had not been back to the place since she was 5 !

And from all the "Hu Hah !" that people has been saying about Langkawi,

we were excited to actually make the trip there for part 1 of our honeymoon.

We got there midday, got a car, and stop for lunch in a seafood shop in town.

had normal stuff, 竹滩,fried mee, bitter gourd, and the 老黄瓜汤

reasonable priced, no complain.

Finally........... we made it to our honeymoon !

Emerald Puteri Hotel

Sorry about the quality of picture........

Well, Me and LC was back in SP.

we arrived late and decided to stay in a hotel instead.

so.........Emarald Puteri it was.

LC called earlier in the day to make a reservation,

and the staff just replied, " No need to book, plenty of rooms."

so, we did not.

once arrive at the check in counter,

told the guy, and the reply was,

"sorry, we do not have anymore normal rooms, but you can have

the deluxe for extra RM50"

anyway, i did not argue, and just say ok.

went up to the room........

and it was a room with 2 single bed.

came down again and complained, and insisted to have a

room with double bed..

after some arguement, i was about to walk out,

and suddenly,......

"Sir, i just confirmed theres one room available,

the person who reserved it has just cancelled.!"

and guess what ? this is all happening at 12.30am

went up to the room....was damned tired,

while waiting for LC to have a shower, i tried to turn on the TV.

and guess what. it does not work .

SO....... I will not recomend this hotel to anyone. !

Look Look

Have not been writing must on this blog,

been really busy with work and the preparation for the BIG DAY.

anyway, wanted to share about my "Look Look" experience.

A while back, after a few drinks, usually there will be a "Look Look"

van outside waiting for customers.

For those who do not know..........

"Look Look" is a van that sell food, main in skewers,

and you dip in boiling water to cook it or in this case

in oil to deep fry it.

I chose to have clamps, "Si Ham"

have it deep fried, sprinkle some pepper and chili powder.

"Yummy ! especially after a few drinks."

I knew she loved the diamond ring the first time she saw it.

so....... the second time around.

we were looking at the same ring.

and I bought it !

made her feel special, cause she is special to me :-)

now just have to wait for the wedding band to be ready.

Booked through the internet for a room in Hotel Royal

or else known as the Dorsett Penang previously.

View from our room on the 13th floor.

The room is clean and neat.

no bad smell. or dirty floor. like the one we stayed in

in Tanjung Bungah.

And i asked for a high floor room.

and was given one.

for RM 190, not bad.

think we will be back in the same hotel next time.

Stop by the "Pacific Mall" in prai to have lunch.

Its the megamall Food Court.

As Usual....... Must Have Penang Curry Mee.. !

And LC notice "Jawa Mee" so we ordered one.
Taste nice, expecially the keropok.

And LC had the "Wan Ton Mee"

Thinks she is coming down with something.

throat does not feel nice.

Luckily, turn out to be nothing serious.

Bought some "Manuka Honey" in penang the next day.

and that did the trick ! :-)

and best of all......

Penang Food is Cheaper then KL.

Well....... LC wanted to have a look at the new proton..
and we drop by one in puchong.

the MPV looks impresive, and spacious.
and the price is ok as well,
about RM 75k with full accesories.

only one thing is that, the seats are a bit small
for the size of the car.

HOMETOWN Kopitiam

Went with LC to try out a new place in Bandar Puteri, Puching.

Hometown Kopitiam.

it was mid afternoon, not very hungry, but just wanted to

have a drink and try the place out.

we tried their "Yao Char Kuai" 油条

and it comes with mayonnaise on it

and we had and ice honey lemon, and a pineapple and lemon drink.

well,......the drinks are ok.

only the service is a bit on the down side.

most of the waitresses are not local,

so communication is hard.

and when we wanted to pay........

the Boss' son had to keep me waiting at the counter

for about 5 minutes, just so that he could figure out

what we had to eat and drink.

and......another 5 minutes to figure out

how to punch in the order into the reister.....

LC was telling me about this chicken rice place......

and they have the best roast Pork 烧肉

Well, the place is mei mei 美美 kopitiam

just opposite the 4 face buddha in OUG.

We ordered a plate of mixed, 烧肉, 叉烧, 烧鸡

and a plate of vege.

the roast pork is special cause the meat is soft and the skin,

is sooooo, crispy, and not hard at all.

the stall's name is 文记.

Sad Day

On the weekend, was told my grandfather was admitted to hospital.

So on Sunday, took mom and went to visit him.

Sad sight,....... he was hooked up to so many tubes, and machine.

he could not speak, but we felt that he knew we were there.

At that moment, it made me think of my Dad.

I was lucky in a way, cause my dad passed away in my arms.

At 2pm on sunday, we received the news that he was gone.

we shall miss you.

especially foreigners !

Well.... got another call from a foreigner again to day about the apartment.
" can i see the place today ?" the person said.

"sure !, i will be there before 5pm" i said.

so, i left office about 4.30pm and got there just about 5pm.
waited for about 15 minutes........

so i called.
"the place is too far, we are not interested" the person said.

"you should have atleast called me if you are not interested,
so that i don't have to rush down here !"
and i hangup the phone.

so, next time.....they can wait for ME !

New Perodua

Was reading the newspapaer this morning.

read something about a new perodua MPV. and did some searching.

as you can see, both the toyota and perodua are almost indentical.

I suppose the only difference is in the price and some minor details.

Even with a cheaper price, around RM 66k.

in this economic climate,

do how many of us that are fortunate enough,

to able able to afford to change a car. ?

most will choose to just stay will the old one i guess.

for the mean time :-)

Few weeks back, LC was craving for seafood, especially crabs.

so i have suggested a place i have been a while back,

and it had like about 30 different ways of cooking crab ! yummy !

BUT...... after driving all the way there,

i could not find the place. sigh

guess my memory was not that good after all !! :-)

so, on the weekend, we saw it on TV.

the place we were suppose to have crabs !

So...... i have done some searching.......

guess we did not go further in last time.

now i know where it is....

replied "hmmmm.........i can't make it, can we make it tomorrow ?"

Well........ took my friend's advice and put an ad in Mudah.my
and straight away i received 3 emails enquiring about it.

today, one of them called.
by the sound of it, it seems like some sort of
african foreign students..... (maybe ??)

From what i have read in the news and stories that people tell,
am wondering should i rent it out to them ?

what if they use the place for some vice activities ?
ofcourse...... not all of them are like that.

“We are probing whether there are elements of graft and mismanagement,” said the officer who requested anonymity.

Was back to this restaurant again on the weekend.

潮楼馆 in bandar puteri, puchong

LC had this "yam and lap cheong" fried rice.

and the 云吞麵, ok lah, nothing special.

One thing i want to mentioned is that, this restaurant has this gimmick.

everytime we go there, they will give a RM 5 voucher to be use next time.

but so far we have collected about RM20 and we are still unable to use it.

reason...........................

you must have more then RM40 in your next receipt inorder to use it. :-(

and everytime we go, the bill always come to less then RM40.

SO, guess its just a useless piece of paper to us.

Yesterday was another HOT HOT Day......

So we decided to just go to a local shop for a light lunch.

If you are ever in Puchong, Bandar Puteri, do try out the food at

a coffee shop by the name of "Strawberry" just behind

the sri puchong hotel

This is the "Ipoh Mee Curry".....liked the taste, but the sotong was a bit hard.

Had a "Tun Tang" as Well 老黄瓜 - 燉汤
taste not bad.
Most inportantly, me and LC chose the place because they have a fruit stall.
just nice on a hot saturday afternoon.
All in all, lunch for 2 for less then RM 15.

This is what happens in my area.

The recycle bins are there for a purpose, and ofcourse,

those still reusable items will be channel to the needy.

most of us might be lucky enough to have what we need.

but some out there have no choice but to wait for luck to come to them,

maybe in forms of some good used cloths, bed sheet, toys.....etc

but what i saw makes my heart break, as......

it is kind enough of some groups to set up collection bins

to make it easy for us to donate.

but why go and burn it ! ??

must have been some really bad people.....? boys ? or maybe even girls ?

Well......woke up this morning and was reading the papers.

4:25pm: Barely 21 hours after the Kuala Lumpur High Court ruled Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin was Perak Menteri Besar, the post is now back to Barisan Nasional's Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir.

The Court of Appeal has allowed a stay of execution of the order pending an appeal filed by Zambry this morning - sources N.S.T.

PUTRAJAYA: The Barisan Nasional will appeal the High Court decision declaring Perak Pas secretary Datuk Nizar Jamaluddin as the lawful Perak menteri besar as soon as possible.

BN chairman and Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Razak said: "We will appeal against the decision and we must get a date as soon as possible."

He hoped a date would be fixed today.

had like 4 showers in a day,

LC tried their "Pan Mee 板麵

this 河婆雷茶is suppose to be the 3rd branch in puchong.

and they also have a nice 三保汁

celery, bitter gouard,and apple. very healthy and nice,

thats if you like the bitter taste.

PETALING JAYA: A coffee shop here has been turning hundreds of its regular customers into drug addicts by pushing a "five-star" herbal tea to them.

Each day, more than 150 glasses of tea laced with codeine are sold to unsuspecting customers who keep coming back for more because of the high that the drug gives.

Codeine, the active drug in many cough mixtures, is used by drug addicts as a substitute for hard drugs. The discovery was made by a Health Ministry team yesterday, when it raided a pharmacy in New Town here.

The team discovered that up to 1,000 codeine tablets a week had been sold to the coffee shop.

Next time think twice when you are going to try something out of the norm.
just stick to the normal black coffee will do.

to hear from my daughter today, about her moving out, it was sudden, but then agian it was no surprise to me. it was coming.

the result of a broken marriage............for a person who beleives in "till death do us apart !"
it was a big blow.

it was hard for me to have left them at that time.

But.........time passed......and my little girl has turn out to be a grown young woman !

I am proud, but as a father......i will always be worried.

especially on my 43rd birthday......it makes me feel old....... :-)

Well....LC have been bugging me to go and check out

牛车水 at Ara Damansara

For a start.........the signages to show where to go to this place is

very bad ! we first tried from LDP, then from subang airport road...

took us 5 u turns and about 45 minutes.

but we manage to find it.....

To our surprise...... the place is a real let down.

most shops are empty, and theres no crowd.

what you see here are shops the have moved out, and its not just one.

I suppose with the bad directions....no wonder this place is DEAD !

LC had a craving for seafood this weekend........ so we went

to Port Klang for it 港村海鲜楼

it was nice....... had crabs, prawns and fish !

Prawn was nice and crispy, crabs is fresh as well as the fish !

by the end of the day........all finish.

paid RM 100 for the whole thing and......

Totally enjoyed the day, and the trip there was worth it.

GEORGE TOWN: A 17-year-old boy kept a dark family secret all to himself for the past three years.

Back in 2006 when he was only 14, his father took him along to bury his younger sister, then 7, at a field near the Sunshine Farlim Hypermarket here.Yesterday, the teenager led a police team to the open field about 1pm to recover human bone fragments and a skull, believed to be that of his sister.

Shocking to hear things like that, but the poor boy.........
it must have been the guilt of knowing and being part of it.
